Family Portraits (Times 12!) on Kiawah Island

When a family has been photographed by your company almost 13 years in a row, you have to blog about it! It has been so fun to watch these children change and grow over the years, especially through photos. But only the kids change, the parents stay the same age, right?! That’s how I’m told it works. 😉

These kids have turned into the greatest young adults, they are such a beautiful family! I posted a picture from every year I have photographed them, the first being in 2006, only a year after I took over this business. Since then, they have come to Kiawah Island almost every year with the exception of one. Family beach trip traditions are so fun and something that the whole family cherishes and can look forward to! This year the oldest son even brought his girlfriend with him. Talk about growing up! I can’t believe it.

It’s also so fun to see their outfits every year, you can never go wrong with shades of blue and green mixed with white and tans, it’s a classic color combination. We often tell families to wear colors that match with their surroundings as well as pastels – orange, pinks, yellows etc. If you are planning on putting up your photos in your living/family room etc. it could also be a good idea to wear outfits that work well with your color scheme there (but black and white photos also look wonderful!).

Enjoy this little blast from the past, and I am sure you can figure out the order of these pictures.

Then here are some of my favorites from this years session. I also love that they were still okay with holding hands. That doesn’t always happen. After a certain age you just can’t get a lot of siblings to hold hands, so I love that they still would. Great family. Thanks for checking this session out! I hope that I can help y’all capture some moments like this in the future.
