Let’s talk about before and after photos. Something about them is so great, right? To see a space, thing or person transform right before your eyes is amazing and oddly satisfying at the same time. As you can see in the photos we posted below, the difference between these photos is pretty extreme. However, the interior looks pretty much the same in both photos, with some minor tweaks. The difference, my friends, lies in the photography.

Why Is Quality Home Photography Important?

And how big of a difference does it make?

In a day and age where all of our information can be consumed online, good quality photos are important for a number or reasons. Here are a few

  1. Homes with no pictures or low-quality pictures are largely ignored

  2. According to a study, home buyers list photos as the number one most important thing when looking at homes on the web

  3. Homes with better photography can sell faster

  4. According to the National Association of Realtors, 9 out of 10 people look for a home online, making it the first place you will come into contact with a listing

So whether you are listing your home for sale, for rent, or putting it online at sites like AirBnb, Home Away and VRBO, making sure you have quality photography could make all the difference between a buyer choosing your listing or a competitors.

    Before and After Photos

I want to let the photos talk for themselves, but there are a few things that it is important to note.

I mentioned that the interior was pretty much the same with some minor tweaks. Let me tell you, those minor tweaks actually can make a huge difference. Staging a home is so important. New pillows, a different lamp, freshening up the space with some plants and a new coffee table and small decorations transformed this home into an inviting space, which is also thanks to the angles and lighting used. It makes the space look so much bigger and more welcoming. Just look. Game changers.

Photographing the home from a variety of angles, getting windows in the shots, shooting at the right height so that you aren’t chopping out ceilings or floors and shooting at the right time of day in the right lighting are all so important for achieving the look you desire. Photographics Photography is responsible for the “After” photos that you see. The before photos were what was originally used for the listing. Let us know what differences you see in the comments below!
